Italy is known for its beautiful romantic scenery and is packed full of attractions, making it hard to know where to start when it comes to photography. Besides its art treasures, Italy also features beautiful coasts, mountains and alpine lakes, which makes it no surprise that it is often nicknamed the Bel Paese (which translates to “beautiful country”). With so much striking scenery and stunning sites, it isn’t difficult putting together a list of the top scenic locations of Italy, a perfect place for creating beautiful photos.

Every end of the year there are few things you can count on: lively holiday lights in the streets, incredibly crowded shopping malls for last minutes gifts and...year-end lists on what we leave behind and surveys on what the new year will bring us. This is particularly true in travel.
And the most intrigues answer for a travel professional every year is - What will be the best destination of

Today I have bought a two day pass on the vaporetto system. I can hop on and off wherever I like, and am determined to find the island. It’s fascinating — fishermen’s nets, sea birds, and strange abandoned buildings.
My characters are archaeologists working on a dig somewhere out here. I go from island to island: Mazzorba, Burano, Torcello, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, but they’re not right. We stop at the cemetary island of San Michele. I get off to wander amongst the cypress trees. It’s blissfully peaceful here, a place to spend eternity. You’re in good company: Igor Stravinsky, Ezra Pound, Serge Diaghilev, Joseph Brodsky. I jot down names

What’s spookier than Count Dracula’s castle? While there is no official Halloween holiday in Italy, at one place in Puglia – the so-called Skull Cathedral of Otranto – things are pretty scary 365 days a year.
Now, let there be any doubt, Otranto is a supremely beautiful seaside Southern Italian town, situated on the eastern edge of the Salento peninsula. Like many things in this part of Italy, the town traces its origins to the ancient Greeks. In summer, you can actually walk down from Otranto’s ramparts right to the sea and have a swim in the crystal clear waters. It’s sunny, fabulous Italian fun

Imagine for a moment that you are near the end of your week-long vacation in Italy when all of a sudden something magical and unexpected happens: your boss calls and instructs you to take an additional two days off – on condition that you use this time to discover an Italian destination that’s slightly off the radar. Should such a scenario arise, you’d have to choose where to go, and to get this exercise going I am going to put forward a pair of what some might call B-list cities (which both happen to start with the letter B) but that which, very frankly, have A-list appeal: Bologna in the north and Bari down south

Apulia, or Puglia in Italian, is one of Italy’s most magical regions. It is the spur of the boot of the Italian landmass, with an intricately chiseled coastline that often creates an island-style feel. The sense of history here is ubiquitous but never oppressive – vying for your attention is an almost staggering range of sites from prehistory to Magna Graecia, and from the Roman Imperial age to the Renaissance and the Italian Baroque after that. Apulia is nearly 7,500 square miles in size and there are almost as many reasons to fall in love with the place, but we’ll start with just six
