About the hotel
SETTING & STYLE
Gangehi Island is a small luxury resort reached within 25 minutes by seaplane from Male Airport. This secluded and peaceful island has lush vegetation; on one side it is bordered by a coral reef close to the shore, on the other it opens into a broad lagoon. Protected by its barrier reef, the island is a pearl of white sand, shaded by coconut palms and surrounded by crystal-clear sea.
The marine life is one of rare beauty: an amazing variety of tropical fish swim around the coral along with marine turtles and many other. Apart from the thousands of multi-coloured fish in all shapes and sizes and the corals themselves, there is a whole separate world populated by turtles, manta rays, sharks and dolphins.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
Veli Restaurant: The main restaurant overlooking the sea and the beach presents delicious Italian specialities, oriental, international cuisine, live grill and cooking stations. Serves buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. For private and romantic dinners, seafood menus including fresh lobsters may be reserved at an extra charge.
Thari lounge and restaurant: This is a new and elegant à la carte restaurant and bar, with open kitchen. It serves cocktails and refined international dishes for dinner. Suspended over the splendid lagoon and with an amazing landscape.
Kandu Bar: Panoramic bar next to the main restaurant, overlooking the sea. Conveniently opened all day it serves fresh juices, cocktails and imported liquors, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. It’s the ideal gathering point to relax.
RELAX
Health & Spa - At Ginger Spa, treatments are combined with a spiritual and meditative experience to achieve total wellbeing of both body and mind. Coconut palms and white beaches frame the luxurious structure which consists of four original antique wooden cottages transported from Kerala, the cradle of Ayurveda. Antique furniture and décor, candlelight, oriental music and mysterious aromas are part of the unique experience. The spa offers a wide massage and beauty menu mainly following the ayurvedic tradition renowned in the Maldives and tailored to your skin type and personal needs.
Beach - Protected by its barrier reef, the island is a pearl of white sand, shaded by coconut palms and surrounded by crystal-clear sea. Snorkelling tours are offered to all guests free of charge to admire the beautiful variety of coral reef fish.
Diving Centre - Thanks to its strategic location in the North Ari Atoll, Gangehi Island Resort can offer innumerable diving sites suitable for either beginners, more advanced or expert divers with qualified multi-lingual PADI and SSI instructors. The PADI and SSI Dive Centre is providing exciting, safe dives for adventurous guests amongst the breath-taking marine life and warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Activities - The resort offers a range of free of charge activities such as canoes to explore independently the Island to yoga group classes, volleyball and bowls to biology lectures and walks.
A variety of excursions and experiences to satisfy all tastes are also available for guests and payable locally. These include a private desert Island trip, dolphin or manta ray watching trips, trolling fishing and a visit to a local Maldivian village are some of the excursions offered by the resort.
Fitness - The resort features a gym for those wanting to keep up with their sport and fitness routine.

Gangehi Island Resort offers 46 rooms of a very high standard. All rooms have numbered shade umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach. They all include: air-conditioning, mini bar, safe box, bathrobes, hair dryer, beach towels and Wifi. The over water villas also feature tea and coffee making facilities.
Club Rooms: These teak wood furnished rooms are very comfortable and face the inner garden. They can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child (34 sqm)
Garden Villas: These 3 Garden Villas have been designed and located in a perfectly green area and furnished with comfort. They feature a private outdoor sitting area and easy access to the beach. They can accommodate up to 4 adults (64 sqm)
Family Garden Villa: designed to accommodate families with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. They can accommodate up to 4 adults (76sqm)
Beach Villas: Warm and inviting rooms furnished with a unique traditional look and spacious bathrooms. The 20 Beach villas grant plenty of privacy, all enjoy sea views with covered verandas and most of them have direct access to the beach. They can accommodate up to 4 adults (64 sqm)
Overwater Villas: The new 8 spacious overwater villas, are warmly decorated with precious wood and enjoy a privileged position facing sunset and the amazing lagoon. They have a large bathroom with double wash basins and a shower area. They can accommodate up to 3 adults (76sqm)
Overwater Deluxe Villas: The elegantly design and spacious rooms with separate sitting area are exclusively built of precious woods and furnished with original period pieces from India. The generously designed bathrooms feature a semi-open rain shower overlooking the sea.All villas have views of the sunrise or sunset and direct access to the breath taking lagoon. A comfortable private veranda with loungers for sunbathing as well as a covered day bed for those who prefer the shade, completes the ensemble. They can accommodate up to 4 adults (102 sqm)
