About the hotel
From the beach style swimming pool surround by olive trees, to the spa with its unique treatment rooms, everything about a stay at Masseria Torre Coccaro is exceptional. The food is no exception, with delicious local and traditional fare on offer, and if you like what you've tasted, you can take a cooking class with the resort's chefs. The resort also offers transportation to and from their beach club for guests craving a swim the sea.
Perfect for slow-traveling honeymooners, the Masseria Torre Coccaro is a historic manor house dating from the 16th century. Originally built as a stronghold against the Turks, it has now been converted into a 5-star luxury resort. Surrounded by olive groves and almond trees, the Masseria Torre Coccaro offers its guests an authentic experience of rural Italy. The courtyard boasts a chapel built in 1730, as well as a vegetable garden, beautiful stone portico and an outdoor dining area.
All the rooms are furnished with antiques outfitted with all the amenities expected of a 5-star resort. Junior Suites have a stone fireplace, while Suites are situated in the tower and are distinguished by original barrel-vaulted ceilings and a balcony overlooking the sea.
The resort's four restaurants serve locally sourced foods like Murgia lamb, fresh fish caught in the Adriatic waters, typical Apulian cheeses, and fruits and vegetables grown right on the estate. Elegant Mediterranean cuisine is served in the Egnathia and Le Palme restaurants, while there is poolside dining at the Cabana Restaurant and an oyster bar and sushi at the Coccaro Beach Club.
The luxurious spa is equipped with a large gymnasium, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and both whirlpool and Turkish baths. The wide choice of massages on offer range from traditional ayurvedic treatments to Shiatsu and reflexology. All the treatments use herbs and organic fruits such as musk, yucca, true aloe, chamomile and lime.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
Restaurant ‘Egnathia’ with its old vaulted ceiling, offers traditional Apulian and Mediterranean cuisine with products grown organically at the Masseria. In summer, the ‘Cabana’ pool bar serves delicious light lunches and barbecued specialties. In the evening, guests can enjoy a drink in the Tower Bar, with its fireplaces, vaulted ceilings and garden terrace.
RELAX
The Masseria has an unusual ‘beach-style’ pool, which nestles amongst the olive trees and palms. Alternatively, guests can relax at the Hotel’s private beach, to which a shuttle is provided in summer. Here is located the Coccaro Beach Club, with restaurant, massage pavilions and sun-beds. The Masseria offers a spa and health club, uniquely located in a stone cave. The spa has a ‘waterfall’ shower and treatment rooms designed around the original stone walls.
