The medieval fortress of Borgo di Bastia Creti dates back to 1433, and has been restored into the ideal vacation spot for travelers looking to dive into the picturesque Italian countryside. Located where Tuscany and Umbria meet, the little village situated at the top of a hill and boasts astonishing views from every angle. Umbria, known as the country’s "green heart," is lush with olive groves, vineyards, sunflower fields and orchards for an authentic slice of Italy!
The property has been renovated into a unique resort that includes three large apartments and two detached houses, La Limonaia and The Cottage. While providing the amenities and comfort of a modern hotel, the decor of every room remains true to the traditional style of the borgo: earthy tones of the exposed stone walls, wooden beams and handmade terracotta tile floors combined with rustic draperies and textiles. And a real wood-burning fireplace is the perfect touch for those chillier Fall evenings.
Breakfast or brunch is available upon request in The Chapel, the village’s original chapel that was deconsecrated and converted into an attractive dining and relaxing area. It boasts frescoed walls and an open fireplace, as well as an outside terrace for al fresco meals. Guests can also enjoy the swimming pool, positioned so it takes in the most breathtaking, bucolic views of the surrounding valleys and hills, plus a tennis court and a sauna.
