Along with my brother and sister, I thoroughly enjoyed a private tour to the Uffizi and Accademia with our guide Giuliana. We peppered Guiliana with constant questions about the art, history and culture of Florence and were fascinated by the depth of her knowledge. Particularly intriguing were the explanations of wealthy donors/politicians/church figures who were portrayed in so many Renaissance artworks, often involving stories of political intrigue, patronage or doomed love affairs. This private tour was our most memorable experience in Florence and I would highly recommend it.
We enjoyed the tour and guide very much. Our guide was excellent and engaging for the entire tour.
Our guide was excellent, full of energy and enthusiasm.. She was very knowledgeable and gave us excellent specific details regarding the artwork and the sculptures.
Our tour of the Uffizi and Accademia was a highlight of our trip, and wouldn't have been possible without Select Italy. Florence is hot in summer, and I have zero tolerance for long lines. I travelled with my 12 year old daughter, and our tour guide, Paola, did a wonderful job of tailoring her analysis and information to suit the short attention span and interests of a tween. It was well worth the investment.
Anza was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgable about the art museums and included a tour of the duomo. She stayed with us longer than she should have, and answered every question. That was the highlight of our visit to Florence.
