Emilia Romagna is internationally known as being the home of some of the world's premier motor manufacturers, as well as for its sublime food culture. On this full-day tour, you will have the chance to learn about the extraordinary history of the Prancing Horse, founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1928, and experience the local gastronomy at the same time.
The day begins with your departure from Florence, as your private English-speaking driver takes you to the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, about a two-hour drive from downtown Florence. Once there you will get a close look at various models of Ferrari race cars and one person of your group will have the possibility to take a 10-minute test drive in a Ferrari with a pilot seated next to you.
After the tour, you will head to a local restaurant where you will enjoy a two-course lunch and sample some of the region's most famous products, such as tortellini al ragu' or lasagna. More local delicacies will be tasted after your guided tour of a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese factory. The day concludes in Modena - the mecca of traditional balsamic vinegar - where you will visit the facilities of a historic factory and enjoy a tasting of the fine vinegars they produce.
