Combine Chianti wine with the blissful Tuscan countryside in this half-day wine tour to the Cantina Antinori departing from Florence.
The Winery Visit & Tasting at Cantina Antinori in Chianti Classico is a comprehensive tour for wine enthusiasts who want to explore the winery’s most suggestive and unusual spaces. Visitors will be led through six centuries of Antinori family history in a multidisciplinary experience: enology, architecture and wine tasting. The tour concludes with the tasting of four wines in the suggestive suspended tasting room or in the exclusive Bottaia room.
The short movie about the Antinori family by film director Cinzia Th. Torrini: "The Antinori: Vintners since 1385” narrates the history of the Marchesi Antinori family and the role it held in Florentine society in past centuries with the aid of some of the most representative works of art from the family’s private collection. The tour moves from outside to inside the winery focusing on production processes, the winery's innovative architecture and the contemporary works of art that are on display throughout the itinerary. Guests will see the barrique and barrel cellars by private access to production areas.
At the end of the visit, guests will taste four of our estate wines: Villa Antinori Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva, Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione and Vinsanto del Chianti Classico DOC Marchese Antinori.
Wine tasting will take place either in the impressive suspended room or in the more intimate Bottaia room. Depending on the season, it may be possible to taste "Olio novo", the organic extra virgin olive oil from our Pèppoli estate.
The winery visit, tasting with lunch is an emotional journey that combines the winery's architecture and typical Tuscan flavors, a concept that reveals at the same time the majestic proportions of the cellar and the elegance of our most representative wines. Cervaro della sala Umbria IGT, Badia a Passignano Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione, Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tignanello Toscana IGT will be tasted in the exclusive and intimate Bottaia room or in the impressive suspended room, a glass tasting area with a view over the barrel cellar. The visit will conclude at "Rinuccio 1180", our restaurant overlooking the hills of Chianti Classico, where Conte della Vipera Umbria IGT and Guado al Tasso Bolgheri DOC Superiore and the dessert wine Muffato della Sala Umbria IGT will be paired with dishes from Tuscan tradition re-elaborated with a contemporary interpretation.
Wines may vary according to the season and availability. The tour may include other guests and lasts about two and a half hours plus additional time for lunch.
