In this hands-on cooking lesson with Chef Andrea Gagnesi, you will learn to prepare a traditional Tuscan meal and taste world-class wines and olive oils produced on the Badia a Coltibuono estate.

Overview

For a once-in-a-lifetime experience, travel to the Badia a Coltibuono, an evocative 11th century abbey in the heart of Tuscany that is also the cooking school of famed cookbook writer, Lorenza de Medici. In this hands-on lesson you will prepare a traditional Tuscan meal with the Badia's Florentine chef, Andrea Gagnesi, and taste world-class wines and olive oils produced on the estate.

Chef Gagnesi will guide you through the preparation of a full four-course regional meal, starting with antipasti and ending with dessert. Enjoy the delicious dishes you just made in the beautiful private dining room while sampling their very own wines. After lunch, you will relax in the living room where coffee and grappa will be served.

The three-hour lesson is preceded by a guided tour of the property, providing a chance to immerse yourself in the unique lifestyle and hospitality of a 1,000 year old abbey while savoring the authentic tastes and sights that this remarkable region has to offer. Badia a Coltibuono is sure to be the highlight of your trip to Italy!

Additional Information:
Transportation is NOT included in the total price. Select Italy will be happy to arrange a private transfer for a supplemental fee.

Other students may be joining the class.

Cooking Event Program:
10:00 am: Arrive at the Badia and meet your fellow classmates over coffee. Guided tour of the grounds and the ancient wine cellars;
10:30 am: Hands-on Cooking Class;
1:30 pm: Lunch in the private dining room and tasting of the Badia's wines and olive oils. Enjoy coffee and grappa in the fireplace room or gardens;
2:30 pm: Departure.

Lunch includes antipasti; pastas, rice, soup or gnocchi; meat or fish dishes with seasonal vegetables; and desserts; as well as breads, olive oils, and wine

Siena was fabulous. The cooking class at Badia Coltibuono was fantastic, the chef and staff were courteous and very sweet. And the store manager there, Antonio was just the best!
