The rich history and culture of the southern Italian region of Apulia is one that spans centuries and civilizations. This half-day tour will introduce you to one of the most unique architectural wonders of the region, followed by a taste of the celebrated local cuisine.
This private service begins at your hotel (in Alberobello), where you will meet your guide and head to a demonstration of cheese-making at a local dairy farm.
Afterwards, you will start your walking tour of Alberobello. This small town in Apulia is famous for its unique trulli - traditional, 19th century dry stone huts with a conical roof that were built to allow landlords to escape paying taxes under feudalism. During the tour you will not only view this fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site from the outside, but you will be able to visit the interior of the trulli to truly experience their ingenious structure.
Following your visit to Alberobello, you will head to the beautiful surrounding countryside where you will stop at a typical masseria. You will be welcomed with bruschetta and local wine before taking part in a short cooking class and lunch with the owners.
