Tidy rows of vineyards, silvery-green olive trees and the inky exclamation points of cypresses are the scenic backdrop for this shared, full day small group excursion to the Chianti area where one of the world's most famous wines is produced.
A comfortable minivan will take you around the picturesque Tuscan countryside, making stops at three wineries along the way. Here, a knowledgeable sommelier will show you around the production facilities and the cellars where you will taste wines made from Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
In addition, you will have an opportunity to try some unique Super Tuscan wines. The signature of a quality producer, Super Tuscans stem from Chianti wines, however, it is a variety blend of regional Tuscan and non-Tuscan red grapes. They are often found in limited quantities with rare opportunities for tastings. You will learn how to distinguish the flavor and acidity of each wine and, based on its unique characteristics, how to best pair it with food. Some of the excellent olive oils produced in this region will also be sampled.
Lunch will be served at a lovely enoteca serving local Tuscan specialties with wine pairings.

Our tour of two wineries and the Tuscan countryside was great - knowledgeable and friendly guides, comfortable van, good wines, some off-the-beaten track experiences. The only reason I am not giving a five-star rating is that the lunch was OK but not great. We were hoping for something more authentic for the lunch.
The tour guides were great, and we had a fun group of people. The wineries we visited were picturesque and amazing. Exactly what you want your Tuscan experience to be. I would recommend it easily.
Originally we purchased the horseback riding tour, but when we arrived to the meeting point our tour had to be cancelled due to the rainy weather - mostly for safety reasons. We were kindly offered to either join a departing Chianti Classico tour or to take new vouchers valid through the year. Despite the rain we decided to take the wine tour. It was an ultimate highlight of our entire trip! The second we left the Florence walls, the sun was up and shining. Spectacular views of Tuscan hills scenery, fascinating historical villas, unforgettable wine tastings with delicious complementary antipasti and food. We visited three different wineries. Our professional guide-sommelier Matteo was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned so much about wines, Chianti wine making, history of the region and country in general. The experience was truly memorable. We strongly recommend this tour to all our friends. It's worth every penny!
