This exclusive cooking class will give you the unique opportunity to expand your cooking skills and learn from an expert chef how to make a perfect Italian meal. You'll prepare a 3-course meal using fresh, local ingredients, while your chef shares with you regional cooking secrets and special techniques. Did you know that in Basilicata there are over ten different types of fresh pasta? During this class you will learn how to prepare one of them: roll up your sleeves and test your skills on fresh orecchiette, tapparelle or lucane chiappute!
For the second course, if available, you will prepare one of the most popular meats of the region: lamb. The chef will teach you about the different cuts and all the secrets on how to make it tender. Cutturieddu, a type of lamb casserole, is one of the most common recipes in which lamb is flavored with wild onions, hot peppers, ripe tomatoes and a few other fresh ingredients.
After the hands-on cooking class, you will sit down and enjoy the meal that you have personally prepared. You will not only remember the taste and flavors of the dishes, but also the joy and fun you experienced throughout the class: the perfect occasion to create a memorable Italian culinary experience!
