Operas are typically performed in their original language with Italian
subtitles. Get the full story before the opera! Select Italy offers a variety of libretti in
English to complement your opera tickets.
Dress nicely for Italian musical events. You may be turned away if you are
dressed too casually. Opening night opera performances require a full dark suit for men, an
elegant dress for ladies.

All service was perfect, from the Internet to contact the delivery of the invitations in the theater lobby. The concert was magnificent.
Effortless and easy

After finding the location of the event on a map, we arrived quite early so there was no crowd. A simple passing of my confirmation email yielded my tickets in my hand in a matter of seconds. The event space was lovely and although the explainations of the music were only in Italian, the music itself was a joy to experience. It made for an outstanding addition to our trip, thank you!
Amici della Musica experience

Although the Kammerchor's program was somewhat disappointing, with a compelling first half (the group is superb) followed by too faithful a presentation of Lizst's tedious STATIONS OF THE CROSS, we were delighted with the arrangements made by Select Italy.

I still can't believe I printed a voucher at home and everything worked to perfection! We had great seats for a wonderful performance by a gifted Hungarian pianist at the lovely Teatro della Pergola in Florence - unforgettable!

I had to get to an internet cafe during my holiday to get the confirmation of the tickets, timing could be better.
I have been in contact with customer services, reachability could be better but I was helped in a friendly and pleasant way.
Tickets were available in time via email, and were available at the concert entrance. Apparently this service works, and if in need I will definitely consider using this service again.
Convinced that a music society worthy of the prestige of the city ought to be created in Florence, founder Alberto Passigli began Amici della Musica ("Friends of Music") in 1919. Though the early 20th century saw both concerts and opera on the schedule of the Amici della Musica, chamber music is now the focus. Today, this concert season is among the most prestigious in the world, representing one of the most lively cultural institutions to be found in Italy. Performances take place in Florence's oldest theatre, Teatro della Pergola. Built in 1656, it was once the private theatre of the grand dukes. Smaller programs take place in the 400-seat Saloncino, a former ballroom with superior acoustics. It is, in fact, often specifically chosen by vocalists for its magnificent sound.
