The "Sounds and Visions of Caravaggio" itinerary includes a guided tour in Doria Pamphilj Palace, one of the most prestigious ancient art galleries in Rome, and an enthralling live performance in the superb "Sala del Trono" (Throne Hall). The musicians will perform playing the same instruments of Caravaggio's age, which are also present in many paintings by the artist. Michelangelo Merisi, named "Caravaggio", is the most representative artist of the Roman Baroque period. The Doria Pamphilj Palace presents some of his most important paintings, such as "Maddalena penitente" (The Penitent Magdalene) and "Fuga in Egitto" (The Flight into Egypt). The Gallery also hosts a huge collection of paintings, sculptures and art works by worldwide renowned artists such as Raffaello, Tiziano, Bernini, Velazquez and many more. Your visit starts with an approximate 50-minute tour within the Gallery and ends with the roughly 20-minute concert in the Throne Hall.
