Performance Info

Performance Description

The "Music in Bernini's Rome" itinerary admires the numerous masterpieces of the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone: the architecture of the church itself, Bernini's sculptures, and the frescoed tambour. The church was built in 17th century and is considered the jewel of Baroque architecture. It was designed by the major architects of that time: Rainaldi, Borromini and Bernini, who was also the designer of the notable Fountain of the Four Rivers, located in front of the church. A live music performance will take place with pieces from the greatest composers of Bernini's time: Girolamo Frescobaldi, Claudio Monteverdi, and others... The musicians will perform using the same musical instruments of the Baroque age. Your visit starts in the "Sacrestia del Borromini" and ends with the concert in the main hall of the Church. The Church is not open to the public during the performance. A maximum number of 110 participants are allowed for this tour/concert. PLEASE NOTE: Because this event takes place in a church, you must follow the dress code prohibiting shorts, sleeveless shirts, miniskirts, flip-flops, etc... "Business Casual" or "Smart Casual" attire would be appropriate.
