Performance Info

Synopsis: With some of the most beautiful music and libretto around, La Traviata remains one of the world's most famous operas, despite (or maybe because of) its tragic plot. ALFREDO is a fervent admirer of VIOLETTA, a courtesan he's had his eye on throughout her recent illness. Irresolute at first, Violetta comes around to love him in return. However, Alfredo's father, GIORGIO, comes to Violetta in secret and asks her to break it off with Alfredo and she woefully agrees. It takes a while, but Giorgio eventually confesses his suggestion to Alfredo and Alfredo finds Violetta, only to see her succumbing to her illness. Reunited, Violetta dies with her love beside her.
