Booking with Select Italy saved us about an hour standing in line. Even in the off season in December, it's worth it.
By booking online with Select Italy and their Team - Giuseppe, Rebecca, et al. Booked Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio, Accademia, Palazzo Pitti, Il Cenacolo in Milano - they worked to get me best dates and times. Really appreciate them. Highly recommend.
The only way to skip long lines! Select Italy has been there for me for the three times I have visited the Uffizi Gallery. It's worth the money! Who wants to waste their time in Florence standing on long lines in the hot sun?
It was a very simple process to pick up the tickets from the kiosk across from the entrance. From there we had to cue up for just a bit as the museum had a staff meeting that morning and there was a back up of people waiting. I believe that if we had been there on a 'normal' day, there would have been nearly no wait at all. Compare that to the around the block lines we witnessed for general admission, this is the only way to go!
The lines for the Uffizi have become unbelievable. With a reservation you get right in. However, there are still way too many people in the galleries and they have moved many of the paintings to other areas because they are restoring some rooms on the upper floors. It was my 3rd visit to the Uffizi and I suspect my last.
