San Daniele is synonymous with prosciutto and the whole hams with the trotter still attached are a familar sight around town. So are the prosciutterie where you can taste the fine hams produced in the almost 30 factories here. Al Baccaro serves prosciutto from the Coradazzi factory in a large glass-walled room with a view of the mountains. Depending on the season, the ham is accompanied by fresh pineapple, kiwi, figs or melon, and they also serve excellent burrata cheese from Puglia and grilled vegetables. In nice weather you can eat outside.
