Via Boccaccio, 24
Certaldo Alto, 50052
Giovanni Boccaccio is Certaldo's most famous son, and right next door to the poet's house-museum is this charming little spot with an air of times past and very reasonable prices. "Poche ma buone" (few but good) is their motto: the menu offers just a few traditional dishes that your Tuscan grandma might have made. Stop in for lunch or an afternoon snack of coccoli fritters with prosciutto and soft stracchino cheese, washed down with a glass of local wine. There are outdoor tables on the village's main street for fine-weather dining.
