Fondamenta Manin, 48 - Murano
Right off Calle dell'Olio, this small and stylish restaurant on Murano is housed in a former bakery. Chef Caterina Nason focuses on simple preparations of seafood, including a buttery and perfectly briny spaghetti alle vongole; crispy orata (sea bream), baked in the oven with potatoes; and tagliolini with squid. Her house-made desserts shouldn't be missed so save room for daily selections like lemon meringue cake, tiramisu, and the creamy coffee coviglia. The wine list is culled mainly from the nearby regions of Veneto, Friuli and Trentino Alto Adige. Open only for lunch, with the exception of Friday when dinner is also served.
