Learn how to make a Florentine meal and take home the secrets of Tuscan cuisine. You will shop for fresh ingredients with Chef Giovanni before starting your hands-on cooking class.
When in Florence....cook as if you were a real Tuscan chef! This shared cooking class takes place in a typical Tuscan setting - a fully equipped, professional kitchen installed in a building, just a few steps from the Duomo and the Central Market.
Chef Giovanni and his assistant Andrea will accompany you and the other participants of the class to the Central Market where you will select the freshest ingredients for your meal. They will teach you how to choose the best among the products offered, and as you shop, you'll get to taste the ham, cheese and bread that you buy.
Afterwards, you will enter the kitchen to prepare a seasonal meal of traditional bruschetta, fresh homemade pasta and typical Tuscan main courses. At the conclusion of this hands-on lesson, you will get to sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you have made! A "graduation certificate" will be presented to all participants in the class.
Please note that the Central Market is closed on Sundays and bank holidays; a special introduction and extra tastings will be available during the cooking class.

We spent 10 days in Italy recently and this one one of my favorite days. The entire experience was fabulous! The 2 chefs were easy to understand, funny and gave us lots of helpful hints on cooking Tuscan style. We made tiramisu, fresh pasta and ravioli, and a bolognese sauce. The group of us had a good time getting to know each other while we cooked, and one of the girls and I have become friends and keep in touch. I loved how the chefs took us to the central market and showed us how they shop and how they use seasonal foods. When I returned to the states, I recreated the experience with my family by making the same dishes on Father's Day with the kids. I highly recommend this!
Our chefs were really fun and very helpful. I never thought I could make pasta from scratch, but I did! It was a great combination of doing a lot of yourself (with help) and getting some down time. One of my favorite things that I did.
