How to Say Merry Christmas in Italian<\/h3>\n

The most common and direct way to say Merry Christmas in Italian is Buon Natale<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ti auguro Buon Natale<\/em>, I wish you a Merry Christmas.<\/p>\n

However, there are other expressions that are used as well.<\/p>\n

Buone Feste<\/em><\/strong> corresponds to the English Happy Holidays and implies best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. You could also say, tanti auguri di buone feste<\/strong><\/em>, best wishes for a happy holiday season.<\/p>\n

Slightly more formal, used in writing rather than in person: Auguri di un Natale sereno<\/strong><\/em> (best wishes for a peaceful Christmas). For example, if you\u2019re sending a card to someone in Italy, you could write: \u00a0\u201cAuguro a te <\/em>(or \u2018lei<\/em>\u2019 if you don\u2019t know the person well) e alla tua<\/em> (\u2018sua<\/em>\u2019 if using lei<\/em>) famiglia un sereno Natale e un felice anno nuovo<\/em> (I wish you and your family a peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year).<\/p>\n
