A just married couple in Rome? How can something like this turn out to be a news? Well, if the couple we are talking about is composed of the young Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his new wife, Priscilla Chan, who have been seen strolling around and having a good time in Rome and the Amalfi Coast, it makes much more sense. This comes as no surprise to us — Italy is a preferred destination for honeymooners and it seems that Mr. and Mrs. Zuckerberg have decided to embrace this tradition, too, and choose Italy as the perfect location to celebrate their marriage.Mark & Priscilla Walking in Italy
The couple tied the knot on May 19th in front of 100 guests in the backyard of their home in Palo Alto, California, just one day after Facebook went public on the stock market. In the tough days that followed the Facebook IPO fiasco on Wall Street, the company’s CEO and his wife were probably trying to forget all about it and look like any normal, just-married couple visiting the Eternal City, but their anonymity didn’t last long.
They were first recognised by a tourist in the Sistine Chapel while they were admiring the wonderful paintings by Michelangelo. Their photo was immediately posted on Twitter – it’s funny how competitors can ALWAYS be on your back – and from that moment on the couple was been seen in several places around Rome.Mark & Priscilla at the Restaurant in Rome
Mark and Priscilla reportedly arrived in Rome last Saturday, May 26th, and spent two nights in room #324 at the Portrait Suites Hotel in a Suite that has a great view of the Spanish Steps. They also visited the Vatican, Campo de’ Fiori, the Colosseum and were seen strolling around the city just like every other couple in love. Of course they didn’t forego a taste of the best Italian food at “Pierluigi” restaurant where they enjoyed a seafood dinner in one of the outside tables in Piazza de’ Ricci. Then Mark was criticized for spending only 32 euros at “Nonna Betta” in the Ghetto area of Rome and they were finally seen having some burgers from McDonald’s on the Mignanelli Steps next to Piazza di Spagna, just every other young couple.Mark & Priscilla in the Amalfi Coast
Later, they moved further south and were seen walking in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. Then the couple arrived in Capri on a private yacht where they visited the Piazzetta and ate at “da Giorgio,” continuing their honeymoon in some of the most enchanting places in the world. This is where the tale ends but just for the moment… And the moral, as always, is that Italy is the best place in the world for honeymooners and lovers, both billionaires and not — don’t worry, if Mark “likes” Italy, then you will too!
