Explore the marvels of Umbria, one of the greenest regions in Italy, which will leave you equally astonished by its nature as by its medieval towns, and where you will find well-preserved pieces of history and gastronomic wonders.<\/p>\n
Day 1<\/strong> \u2013 Upon landing at Fiumicino Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in the town of Scheggino, located in the Fiume Nera Valley in Umbria. You will have some time to explore the churches of San Nicola and Santa Felicita or check out the Springs of Valcasana before heading to a prearranged dinner.<\/p>\n Day 2<\/strong> \u2013 Today you will enjoy a 6-hour private tour taking you to three towns in the area. The first stop will be at the medieval town of Spello, followed by a stop at Montefalco, known for its Sagrantino wine which you will be able to appreciate at a food and wine tasting session. The last stop of the day is at Bevagna where you can view well preserved Roman and medieval walls and towers.<\/p>\n Day 3<\/strong> \u2013 Lovers of good food will particularly enjoy today\u2019s program, which starts with a few hours of truffle hunting in the woods of Scheggino with a specialist, learning all about truffles and how to cook them. You will then have an Italian merenda in nature, tasting local cheeses and salumi before being driven back to the hotel. The rest of the day can be spent exploring independently.<\/p>\n Day 4<\/strong> \u2013 This morning you will head to the Marmore Falls which are over 2,000 years old. This 6-hour trip includes a private guided tour of the waterfalls, and optional experiences such as trekking, caving, or canyoning can be included. Following lunch, you will have the rest of the day to explore independently.<\/p>\n Day 5<\/strong> \u2013 Today\u2019s program takes you to the town of Assisi, known as the birthplace of Saint Francis, where you will visit the town and the Basilica before having lunch in a typical Italian trattoria.
