La Cuccagna is a lovely stone-built farmhouse situated in a very panoramic position amidst the hills of Piacenza. This area, with its beautiful landscape, is famous both for its magnificent castles [still lived in by the area’s noble families, such as the Gonzaga] and for the production of very fine wines. Close to La Cuccagna, there is a trekking center where it is possible to arrange horseback riding trips to the surrounding countryside.
The house has recently been beautifully renovated using authentic materials, such as ‘cotto’ floors and beamed ceilings. An Italian interior designer, who has used a combination of elegant antiques and rustic country furnishings, has furnished the property to a very high standard. Not far from the main house, in front of a lovely free-form swimming pool, there is a guesthouse with a very well equipped bar, an open kitchen and barbecue. In the same guesthouse, there is a suite for clients’ use. The housekeeper and his wife live in the back of the guesthouse and there is a very friendly dog on the property.
