SELECT ITALY owns and has copyrights on this site. You will not copy, reproduce, republish, post, transmit, distribute, or sell any of the information found on our site. Trademarks and logos on our site are our, and our Providers, registered Trademarks. Nonetheless, access to information remains unlimited and complimentary.

We will use all reasonable efforts to keep our site available at all times, subject to necessary downtime for maintenance and system outages. We cannot promise that our site will be error-free or that our site or the servers that make it available are free of viruses.

Select Italy documentation [not limited to vouchers, order notification emails, tickets, etc...] cannot be reproduced, transmitted or modified in any manner. Alteration of Select Italy documentation may result in denial of service.
 
Travel Documents
Each traveler is responsible for obtaining and carrying a valid passport and any other documents required by Italian government regulations. Non-US and non-EU residents may require special travel documents to travel to Italy. Check with your local embassy or consulate.
 
Insurance
Travel insurance is available and strongly recommended. Please ask us for travel insurance information.
 
Notice of Non-Receipt of Service Vouchers
If the requested vouchers have not arrived prior to your departure date, it is your responsibility to contact Select Italy at least one full business day BEFORE your departure from your home country, so that the necessary information can be resent [our offices are open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm US Central Time]. Failure to contact us to allow re-sending will result in loss of your reservation and/or tickets for which we will not be responsible.

Customized Itineraries
1. CONDITIONS

SELECT ITALY acts as an agent for carefully selected service providers, all of which are independently owned and managed. SELECT ITALY shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in service(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or service provider decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the service provider(s). The Client by engaging SELECT ITALY and making full payment for the specified service(s) agrees to hold SELECT ITALY blameless in making arrangements on her/his behalf and that any claim(s) of damage(s), refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the service provider(s).

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of cancellation, deposit and final payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Travel insurance, which is available at an extra cost, is highly recommended.
Museum Tickets
1. CONDITIONS

SELECT ITALY acts as an agent for selected museums, all of which are independently owned and managed. SELECT ITALY shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the museums with whom arrangements are made. The Client by engaging SELECT ITALY and making full payment for the specified reservation(s)/ticket(s) agrees to hold SELECT ITALY blameless in making arrangements on her/his behalf and that any claim(s) of damage after arrival shall be sought directly from the museums.

SELECT ITALY processes any order in the fastest possible manner. In most cases, this means within a few days. However, depending on which museums are ordered and how far in advance the order is made, the time necessary to complete the order may vary. In general, a greater number of museums increases the processing time. Also, different museums follow different procedures and not all have the capacity to accept orders more than one month in advance. In such cases, orders are prioritized chronologically and processed as soon as technically possible.

If the preferred date(s)/time(s) are not available, we will book as close as possible to your preferred times unless instructed otherwise. Though SELECT ITALY will do its best to guarantee your requested time, we reserve the right to book 15 minutes before and 90 minutes after your requested time. In absence of alternative instructions, the SELECT ITALY decision is final. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you provide us with all information and instructions in connection with your order, including all limitations that might apply [e.g.: arrival date/time in town, time restrictions in the event that the preferred time is not available, etc.].

Advance Tickets Service guarantees your entrance at a specific date and time. Select Italy's price includes the reservation fees, SELECT ITALY service fees and [in the cases when possible, as listed] entrance tickets. Ticket prices are as listed on the SELECT ITALY website. Prices are non-negotiable and no discounts are available. Sale prices are non-applicable to previous orders. You must present the vouchers at the museums in order to redeem/purchase your reserved tickets. It is strongly suggested that in the event you are placing your order less than 7 days from your departure date from home, that you indicate the name and number of the hotel where you will be staying as well as your arrival and departure dates (if name on room reservation is different from that of your museum order, you are responsible for providing that information as well). Failure to do so may result in inability to deliver the necessary voucher(s) and subsequent loss of reservation. It is mandatory that you respect the confirmed date/time of ticket pick-up and entrance. If you fail to meet the confirmed date/time of ticket pick-up and entrance (as indicated on the voucher), your tickets will not be honored or refunded.

2. VATICAN CONDITIONS

Reservations for the Vatican Museums, Papal Audience and Special Masses depend on confirmation from the Vatican. If we cannot confirm a requested reservation there is no charge, and the client will be notified.

Reservations may not be confirmed until the business day before your requested service date. It is highly recommended that the client provide hotel contact information or an email address, which will be accessible in Rome and from which pdf files can be printed. If the client does not provide this information or does not have any method of receiving a voucher, SELECT ITALY is not responsible for insuring delivery. It is the client's responsibility to contact SELECT ITALY if he or she has not received the voucher by the completion of business [5:00 pm CST Monday through Friday] 1 business day before the requested service. The Vatican Reservation Services are completely non-refundable.

The Vatican reserves the right to cancel any reservation for the Vatican Museums, Papal Audience and Special Masses. If SELECT ITALY receives notification of such cancellation, SELECT ITALY will contact the client immediately. Any Vatican cancellations will result in a refund less $10.00/ticket for Vatican Museums Reservations, or $10.00/reservation for Papal Audience and Special Masses Reservations. This deduction is a SELECT ITALY booking and service fee.

In order to redeem reserved tickets, the client must present their SELECT ITALY voucher complete with Vatican-assigned confirmation number. If the client does not present this voucher, SELECT ITALY is not responsible and service fees/ticket charges will not be refunded.

Vatican Museums Reservation Service prices include the cost of the ticket, tour guide fees, and a SELECT ITALY booking and service fee of $25.00/person.

Papal Audience and Special Mass tickets are free of charge. The Reservation Service charge is exclusively a SELECT ITALY booking and service fee. This fee is calculated based on the number of people per reservation.

3. CANCELLATION POLICY

SELECT ITALY Museum Service is totally non-refundable and non-transferable. Refunds (minus a $10.00 per ticket handling fee) will only be granted in the event that, for unexpected circumstances, the Museum(s) will happen to be closed or on strike for the confirmed date. A $10.00 per ticket change fee will also be charged in the event that a change of date or time is requested on a confirmed reservation (when such a change is possible).
Music & Cultural Event Tickets
1. BOOKING POLICIES AND CONDITIONS

SELECT ITALY does not receive any commission on ticket sales from Italian theaters. In providing customers with the choice of premier Musical & Cultural events, SELECT ITALY must factor in the additional costs involved with: any pre-booking fees charged by the suppliers in addition to the nominal cost of the ticket [and not printed on the ticket face value]; maintenance of an up-to-date calendar of events; customer service; administrative order processing; and Euro/US$ exchange rate fluctuations. Depending on the source, pre-purchase complexity and the type of event, the quoted cost for tickets may consequently be up to 25% higher than the actual total cost of the ticket [as of September 25, 2006]. In cases where Special Booking Terms & Conditions apply, the cost added by SELECT ITALY may be higher than 25%.

Due to a varying exchange rate and additional fees that may be charged by the theater, prices for chosen performances are subject to change at any time before confirmation. Should the actual price exceed your selection by more than $10.00 per ticket, you will be contacted by SELECT ITALY for your approval, prior to finalizing your order.

Italian theaters reserve the right to change their program without notice and, in most cases, without advance notice to SELECT ITALY. While every effort on our part is made to inform clients promptly about unexpected changes of schedules, SELECT ITALY cannot be responsible for any amendments or cancellations made by the Italian theaters due to unforeseen circumstances. These may include, but are not limited to, revision of program time, cancellation due to strike or poor weather, and substitutions of performers or programs, etc... Once tickets are confirmed, they are completely non-refundable and non-transferable.

Our website pricing does not guarantee actual availability of tickets. Should your chosen ticket not be available, you will be contacted with alternate seating (if available). Alternate seating will not be confirmed without your approval.

SELECT ITALY acts as an agent for carefully selected venues, all of which are independently owned and managed. SELECT ITALY shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the venues with whom arrangements are made. The Client by engaging SELECT ITALY and making full payment for the specified reservations/tickets, agrees to hold SELECT ITALY blameless in making arrangements on her/his behalf and that any claim(s) of damage, refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the venue(s).

The Music and Cultural Event advance ticketing guarantees entrance to a specific event or performance. The cost includes the Reservation fees, the SELECT ITALY service fees, and the entrance ticket.

In most cases, you will be required to pick up your tickets directly at the theater box office on the date of the event, by showing the Voucher and passport. SELECT ITALY will alert you if tickets can be delivered to your shipping address or Italian hotel prior to the event. Additional shipping charges may apply.

SELECT ITALY will act as your representative for the purchase and securing of the requested tickets within the mentioned price range. By accepting the terms and conditions, you authorize SELECT ITALY to complete any purchase within the indicated terms and limits as soon as possible and that any purchase made on your behalf is final and non-refundable.

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

Confirmed tickets are totally non-refundable and non-transferable.

All theaters reserve the right to make any revisions or cancellations of the program deemed necessary. Should a performance be cancelled by the theater for any reason, a cash refund on the face value of the ticket only may be available direct from the box office on the date of the cancelled performance. You may also be able to exchange your tickets for another date within the production run. It is your responsibility to obtain refunds (if made available by the theater) directly from the box office on the date of the performance or within the box offices indicated period of time for refunds. No refund will be offered for additional booking fees or processing fees added by SELECT ITALY.
Guided Services
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

1. All Guided Services with the exception of the Vasari Corridor Private Visit:

For cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until 10 days prior to the date of service, a $100.00 cancellation fee applies; services cancelled within 10 days of the date of service are non-refundable. Cancellations are only accepted in writing and calculated on Italian standard time basis.

Please be advised that any changes to your confirmed service(s) (Private Walking Tour or Excursion) must be requested in writing. All requests received before the shipment of the vouchers will be gladly accommodated as a complimentary service, free of charge. All change requests received after the shipment of the vouchers will require a change fee of $25.00 per adjustment and may require additional fees for museum ticket changes.

2. Vasari Corridor Private Visit:

Once confirmed, reservations for the Vasari Corridor Private Visit are completely nonrefundable and nontransferable. Changes to a confirmed reservation cannot be accommodated.
Chauffeured Transfers
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

For cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until 72 hours prior to the date of service, a $75.00 cancellation fee applies; services cancelled within 48 hours from the date of service are non-refundable. Cancellations are only accepted in writing and calculated on Italian standard time basis.
Excursions
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

For cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until 10 days prior to the date of service, a $150.00 cancellation fee applies; services cancelled within 10 days from the date of service are non-refundable. Cancellations are only accepted in writing and calculated on Italian standard time basis.
Food & Wine Services
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

For cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until 14 Days prior to the date of service, a $100.00 cancellation fee applies; services cancelled between 14 days and 72 hours prior to the date of service will incur a 50% cancellation fee; services cancelled within 72 hours from the date of service are non-refundable. Cancellations are only accepted in writing and calculated on Italian standard time basis.
Hotels
1. CONDITIONS

SELECT ITALY acts as an agent for carefully selected properties, all of which are independently owned and managed. SELECT ITALY shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in accommodation(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or property decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the property(ies) whose name(s) appears on the invoice. The Client by engaging SELECT ITALY and making full payment for the specified accommodation(s), agrees to hold SELECT ITALY blameless in making arrangements on her/his behalf and that any claim(s) of damage, refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the property(ies).

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of cancellation, a full refund (excluding a non-refundable $100 cancellation fee per reserved property) will be returned if payment has not yet been forwarded to the property. After finalization of the pre-payment to the property (approximately done 30 days prior to arrival date), no refunds are possible. Reservations made in conjunction with additional services as part of an FIT are non-refundable and non-transferable. Travel insurance is available at an extra cost and is highly recommended.
Villa & Apartment Rental
1. BOOKING AND DEPOSIT

Once you have selected your holiday property, you must complete and sign the Booking Form and return it to us or hand it to your travel agent. A 30-50% (depending on the property) deposit is due upon written confirmation of the booking by check or credit card. No contract will exist between us until we have received the required deposit. If you book through a travel agent, then a contract will exist between us once we have issued written confirmation to your agent.

2. PAYMENT OF THE BALANCE

Select Italy will issue a confirmation to you or your travel agent. The balance of charges is payable no later than 10 weeks before the departure date. Failure to meet payment dates will be treated as a cancellation and we will be entitled to apply the cancellation charges as set out in paragraph 5.

3. LATE BOOKINGS

Late bookings are those made within 12 weeks of departure. Once details have been confirmed to you over the telephone, a contract shall be deemed to exist between you and Select Italy, and all booking conditions, including cancellation charges shall apply. Full payment will be due immediately.

4. ALTERATION BY THE CLIENT

If after booking your holiday you decide to alter any of the details of the confirmed booking, an amendment fee of $100.00 per modification will apply.

5. CANCELLATION BY THE CLIENT

Based upon the date on which we receive written notification of a cancellation by you, or the booking being cancelled by us due to non-payment, the following charges shall apply:
- 10 weeks or more before the departure date, the requisite 30% deposit.
- Between 10 and 6 weeks prior to the departure date a charge of 50% of the total holiday cost.
- Less than 6 weeks prior to the departure date the cancellation charge is 100%.

6. ALTERATION AND CANCELLATION BY THE COMPANY

Although it is highly unlikely that any of our suppliers will have to make any changes to confirmed arrangements, it does occasionally happen, and we will advise our clients at the earliest date possible. If for any reason beyond our control we are unable to provide you with the property you have booked, we reserve the right to transfer you to a similar property. If the cost is less than your original booking then you will receive a refund. If, however, the cost is more, then, upon your acceptance, you will have to pay the difference. However, if this is not possible or you do not wish to be transferred, we will cancel the booking and refund the full amount paid to us for the property, but we shall not be liable for any cancellation charges for travel arrangements.

7. BROCHURE INFORMATION

The utmost care has been taken to provide accurate details of services in the information provided to you. However, proprietors do sometimes make changes and all references to the condition of the property or services must not be taken as statements of fact, but as statements of opinion.

8. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMPANY

All due care and attention has been given to making your holiday arrangements, but since we do not personally own the villas, we cannot accept responsibility for the breakdown of the water, gas and electricity supply, telephone, quality of roads, scorched lawns due to excessive sun, or the failure of swimming pool filter systems. Although we will make every endeavor to rectify and solve any problems as soon as possible; we have no legal responsibility to compensate you for any personal injury, death, loss or damage of whatever nature suffered by you or by any member of your party.

9. INSURANCE

All clients must be insured against holiday risks. If insurance is not taken out with Select Italy, a waiver must be signed and a copy of an adequate alternative insurance cover must be presented to us not later than the date of the payment of the final balance.

10. COMPLAINTS

All properties are described accurately and in good faith. However, we decline all responsibility for any modifications made by the owners without our knowledge. In any case, should you have any problems during your stay you should contact us immediately. Failure to do so may reduce your right to compensation. Please note that if the property is abandoned without written authorization from Select Italy, all rights to compensation are lost. Please note that we can be contacted Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm at either our US office, or our Italian office. You will find the relevant phone numbers on your accommodation voucher.

11. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES

Clients must arrive and leave following the indications on the voucher provided by Select Italy. Should clients be unable to arrive between these times, they must let us know as soon as possible.

12. SECURITY DEPOSIT

On arrival at the property, in order to cover possible damage or loss, guests are required to pay a security deposit, details of which are normally given in the description. The deposit is payable to the owner or the key-holder, and must be in the form of a Eurocheque, Traveller’s cheque or cash. The full sum is returnable upon departure. Any loss or damage caused by your failure to respect fixtures or fittings will be deducted by the owner or the key-holder from your deposit.

13. FINAL CLEANING

You will be informed of any final cleaning charges at the time of rental. The final cleaning fee does not include excessive cleaning, the cleaning of the kitchen/kitchenette and the removal of trash, which are your responsibility. If this has not been done, the owner or his/her representative is obliged to charge an additional expense to the amount due. If no cleaning cost is outlined, the guest must leave the property clean. If the property is not handed back in the above-mentioned condition, the guest must pay the owner or his/her representative at the time of check out the amount necessary for cleaning the property.

14. EXTRAS

Additional costs are for heating, telephone, and all additional services not specified in brochure. The period in which heating is available is subject to Italian laws.

15. ANIMALS

The majority of properties do not accept animals. Please ask for information when booking. The presence of an unauthorized animal is grounds for immediate eviction without the right to any reimbursement. If animal is accepted an additional security deposit will be asked for.

16. CARE OF PROPERTY

You are responsible for ensuring that, upon departure, the villa is left in acceptable conditions of cleanliness and repair as found upon arrival. Failure to comply might result in cleaning charges deducted from the security deposit. Any loss or damage caused by your failure to respect fixtures or fittings will be deducted by the owner from your security deposit, as well. Linen is normally changed once per week.

17. SIZE OF PARTY & BEHAVIOR

Property owners reserve the right to refuse admittance if the number of persons arriving exceeds the number on the booking form or the maximum number the property can sleep, as set out in the relevant brochure description. No camping is permitted on the property grounds unless authorized in writing. The client signing the contact is responsible for the correct and decent behavior of his/her party. Should the client and his/her party behave in a manner that is not acceptable by civilized standards, the key-holder might ask the client and his/her party to vacate the property, in which case there will be no refund of any rental payment.

18. PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographs taken in our properties cannot be used or sold for profit without written authorization.

19. FORCE MAJEURE AND SIGNIFICANT CHANGES

Select Italy, its agents, representatives, and property owners are not liable and do not authorize any refunds for any events which are caused as a result of acts of God, Governments, war hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil strife, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, theft, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, technical or administrative problems with transport, closure of airports, breakdown of machinery, adverse weather conditions, water shortages or any other occurrences beyond our immediate control and which, despite all due care being taken, could not have been avoided.

Please note that for properties with a pool, the period during which the pools are open and available for use varies according to the property but is typically occurring from June 1st to September 30th and is subject to weather conditions.

Group Tours
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

For cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until 72 hours prior to the date of service, a $100.00 cancellation fee applies; services cancelled within 48 hours from the date of service are non-refundable. Cancellations are only accepted in writing and calculated on Italian standard time basis.
Vacation Packages
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

For cancellations received between the date of package confirmation and until 30 days prior to the date of departure: deposit forfeited; between 29-15 days prior to the date of departure: 60% of cost forfeited; between 14-7 days prior to the date of departure: 80% of cost forfeited; between 6-0 days prior to the date of departure: 100% of cost forfeited. Cancellations are only accepted in writing.
Air Tickets
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

A cancellation fee of $50.00/person/ticket is applied to cancelled tickets in addition to any airline penalties.

Store purchases are non-refundable [except cost of shipping].
Concert Packages

Once confirmed, hotel and concert ticket packages are non-refundable.
Consultation Service
1. CONDITIONS

SELECT ITALY's $100 consultation fee is completely nonrefundable and nontransferable. The consultation fee is not applicable to any services purchased through SELECT ITALY.

SELECT ITALY provides the most updated information available for all service providers recommended, all of which are independently owned and managed. SELECT ITALY shall not become liable for any travel plans not booked directly through SELECT ITALY, nor any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the service provider(s).

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

Refunds (minus a $10.00 cancellation fee) will only be granted in the event that cancellation request is made in writing (via email or fax) prior to the first consultation appointment.

If you choose to terminate or cancel the consultation at any time after the first appointment, services are nonrefundable.
Airport Shuttle Service
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

Once confirmed, shuttle orders are non-refundable and non-transferable. Select Italy recommends travelers purchase travel insurance. In the case of flight changes and extreme delays, provided the client notifies Select Italy and the service supplier of the flight change and the new flight information by telephone at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled shuttle time (calculated on Italian standard time), clients will be moved when possible to the next available shuttle after their arrival in Italy. Please note that it is the client's responsibility to call the assistance phone numbers on the voucher should any major problems arise.
 
All Other Services/Arrangements
1. CONDITIONS

SELECT ITALY acts as an agent for carefully selected service providers, all of which are independently owned and managed.
