Protection of Information
Select Italy® owns and has copyrights on this site. You will not copy, reproduce, republish, post, transmit, distribute, or sell any of the information found on our site. Trademarks and logos on our site are our, and our Providers, registered Trademarks. Nonetheless, access to information remains unlimited and complimentary.

We will use all reasonable efforts to keep our site available at all times, subject to necessary downtime for maintenance and system outages. We cannot promise that our site will be error-free or that our site or the servers that make it available are free of viruses.

Select Italy® documentation [not limited to vouchers, order notification emails, tickets, etc...] cannot be reproduced, transmitted or modified in any manner. Alteration of Select Italy® documentation may result in denial of service.

Travel Documents
Each traveler is responsible for obtaining and carrying a valid passport and any other documents required by Italian government regulations. Non-US and non-EU residents may require special travel documents to travel to Italy. Check with your local embassy or consulate.

Travel Insurance
Travel Insurance Select Italy® strongly recommends you purchase travel insurance for your trip. Why? Because your trip to Italy represents a substantial investment not just in its cost, but in the time you've spent planning for it and in the anticipation of enjoying a wonderful, carefree vacation. With travel insurance, if something unexpected happens to keep you and/or your travelling companions from taking the trip or if something unforeseen happens during it, you are protected not only against financial loss but also have access to valuable help dealing with a medical emergency, missed connection, lost luggage and stolen wallet, credit cards and passport.

Notice of Non-Receipt of Service Vouchers
If the requested vouchers have not arrived prior to your departure date, it is your responsibility to contact Select Italy® at least one full business day BEFORE your departure from your home country, so that the necessary information can be resent [our offices are open Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm US Central Time]. Failure to contact us to allow re-sending will result in loss of your reservation and/or tickets for which we will not be responsible.

Reviewing Voucher Information
While Select Italy® takes the utmost care in making sure the information on your travel voucher(s) is complete and accurate, it is your responsibility to carefully read and review voucher(s) immediately after receiving it/them. Failure to contact us in time to allow for the correction and re-sending of voucher(s) could result in the loss or cancellation of your reservation, tickets or services listed on the voucher for which we will not be responsible. In such a case, no refunds will be possible.

Refunds
Refund policy varies according to the type of service provided -- please read the individual policies below.

Price Fluctuation
Prices are subject to change without notice as a result of currency exchange rate fluctuations, which may affect the prices of transportation, hotels, or other services.

Force Majeure and Significant Changes
Select Italy®, its agents, representatives, and contractors are not liable and do not authorize any refunds for any events which are caused as a result of acts of God, Governments, war hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil strife, industrial dispute, labor dispute, strike, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, theft, epidemics, quarantine, medical or customs regulations, technical or administrative problems with transport, closure of airports, breakdown of machinery, adverse weather conditions, water shortages or any other occurrences beyond our immediate control and which, despite all due care being taken, could not have been avoided.

In case of force majeure, Select Italy® reserves the right (but makes no guarantees) to offer substitute services that it judges may be an adequate replacement for the originally scheduled service. If no substitute is available, or the substitutes offered are not accepted, Select Italy® will not authorize any refunds.

Select Italy® recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect its clients from costs associated with force majeure and all other cancellations.

Customized Itineraries
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for carefully selected service providers, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in service(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or service provider decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the service provider(s). By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified service(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage(s), refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the service provider(s).

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of cancellation, deposit and final payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. TRAVEL INSURANCE

We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance, available at extra cost, to protect the investment you have made in your travel plans and help ensure peace of mind before, during and after your trip.
Museum Tickets
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for selected museums, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the museums with whom arrangements are made. By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified reservation(s)/ticket(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage after arrival shall be sought directly from the museums.

Select Italy® processes orders as quickly as possible. In most cases, this means within two (2) to three (3) business days. However, depending on which museums are ordered and how far in advance the order is made, the time necessary to complete the order may vary. In general, the greater the number of museums requested, the longer the processing time. Also, different museums follow different procedures and not all have the capacity to accept orders more than one (1) month in advance. In such cases, orders are prioritized chronologically and processed as soon as technically possible.

If the preferred date(s)/time(s) are not available, we will book as close as possible to your preferred times unless instructed otherwise. Though Select Italy® will do its best to guarantee your requested time, we reserve the right to book (fifteen) 15 minutes before and (ninety) 90 minutes after your requested time. In the absence of alternative instructions, the Select Italy® decision is final. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you provide us with all information and instructions in connection with your order, including all limitations that might apply [e.g.: arrival date/time in town, time restrictions in the event that the preferred time is not available, etc.].

Advance Tickets Service guarantees your entrance at a specific date and time. Select Italy's® price includes reservation fee(s), our service fee and [when possible, as listed] the entrance ticket(s). Ticket prices are as listed on the Select Italy® website.

In the case of Reservation Only Services (Galleria Barberini, Legend of the True Cross, etc.), prices do not include the museum's entrance ticket. In these cases, a separate entrance ticket must be purchased upon arrival at the museum in accordance with the information provided on your confirmation voucher. Prices are non-negotiable and no discounts are available. Sale prices are not applicable to previous orders. You must present the voucher(s) at the museum(s) in order to redeem/purchase your reserved ticket(s). It is strongly suggested that in if you are placing your order less than seven (7) days from your departure date from home, that you indicate the name and fax number of the hotel where you will be staying as well as your arrival and departure dates. If the name on your hotel reservation is different from that of your museum order, you are also responsible for providing that information to us. Failure to do so may result in our inability to deliver the necessary voucher(s) and subsequent loss of reservation. Museum policies require you to adhere to the confirmed date/time of ticket pick-up and entrance. If you fail to meet the confirmed date/time of ticket pick-up and entrance (as indicated on the voucher), your tickets will not be honored or refunded.

2. VATICAN MUSEUMS CONDITIONS

Reservations for the Vatican Museums include prepaid entrance to the Museums and Sistine Chapel. Prices include the cost of the ticket and a Select Italy® booking and service fee.

All members of your party will be asked to display proof of identification prior to entrance. The Vatican Museums reserves the right to deny entrance to any individual not adhering to their entrance rules and restrictions, including but not limited to lack of identification, dress code, etc.

Changes to the date, time, participants or cancellation of your Vatican request are subject to the above provided Select Italy® Museum Tickets Conditions.

3. PAPAL AUDIENCE CONDITIONS

Reservations for the Papal Audience depend on confirmation from the Vatican. If we cannot confirm a requested reservation there is no charge, and the client will be notified.

It is possible that we may not be able to confirm reservations until the day before the requested audience date. It is highly recommended that the client provide hotel contact information, including the hotel's fax number or an email address, which will be accessible in Rome and from which PDF files can be printed. If the client does not provide this information or have any method of receiving a voucher, Select Italy® is not responsible for ensuring delivery.

It is the client's responsibility to contact Select Italy® if he or she has not received the voucher by 5:00 pm Central Time (USA) of any normal business day (Monday through Friday) at least one (1) business day before the requested audience date. The Audience Reservation Services are completely non-refundable.

The Vatican reserves the right to hold the audience at the Pope's summer residence, Castelgandolfo. Venue information may not be announced until (one) 1 business day prior to the Audience. Refunds are not granted for change of venue.

The Vatican reserves the right to cancel any reservation for the Papal Audience. If Select Italy® receives notification of such cancellation, Select Italy® will contact the client immediately. Any Vatican cancellations will result in a refund less $10.00/reservation for Papal Audience Reservations. This deduction is a Select Italy® booking and service fee.

Papal Audience tickets are free of charge. The Reservation Service charge is exclusively a Select Italy® booking and service fee. This fee is calculated based on the number of people per reservation.

4. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

Select Italy® Museum Service charges are totally non-refundable and non-transferable. Refunds (minus a $10.00 per ticket handling fee) will only be granted in the event that, for unexpected circumstances, the Museum(s) are closed or on strike on the confirmed date(s). A $15.00 per ticket change fee will also be charged in the event that a change of date or time is requested on a confirmed reservation, if such a change is possible.

5. CULTURE WEEK

Each year the Italian government declares one week as Culture Week, a period when state museums allow free admission. Culture Week dates are often not designated or announced by the Italian government until the last minute. Select Italy® is not responsible for advance notification of this event. During Culture Week, Select Italy® will charge a $10.00 per person reservation fee for any museum taking part in Culture Week. This fee includes the museum's reservation fee as well as Select Italy's® service fee. Some museums do not take part in Culture Week and as a result there is no change in Select Italy® pricing. Select Italy® is not responsible for any museum's change in reservation policy during this period of time.

6. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Music & Cultural Event Tickets
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for carefully selected venues, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the venues with whom arrangements are made. By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified reservations/tickets, you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage, refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the venue(s).

Select Italy® will act as your representative for the purchase and securing of the requested tickets within the noted price range. By accepting the terms and conditions, you authorize Select Italy® to complete any purchase within the indicated terms and limits as soon as possible and that any purchase made on your behalf is final and non-refundable.

Select Italy® does not receive any commission on ticket sales from Italian venues. In providing clients with the choice of premier Musical & Cultural events, Select Italy's® ticket price must factor in the additional costs involved including: any pre-booking fees charged by the suppliers (and not printed on the ticket's face value) in addition to the ticket's face value; maintenance of an up-to-date calendar of events; customer service; administrative order processing; and Euro/US$ exchange rate fluctuations. Depending on the ticket source, pre-purchase complexity and the type of event, the quoted cost for tickets may consequently be up to 25% higher than the actual total cost of the ticket. In cases where Special Booking Terms & Conditions apply, the cost added by Select Italy® may be higher than 25%.

Due to a varying exchange rate and additional fees that may be charged by the venue, prices for chosen performances are subject to change at any time before confirmation. Should the actual price exceed your selection by more than $10.00 per ticket, you will be contacted by Select Italy® for your approval, prior to finalizing your order.

Italian venues reserve the right to change their program without notice and, in most cases, without advance notice to Select Italy®. While every effort on our part is made to inform clients promptly about unexpected changes of schedules, Select Italy® cannot be responsible for any amendments or cancellations made by the Italian venues due to unforeseen circumstances. These may include, but are not limited to, revision of program time, cancellation due to strike or poor weather, and substitutions of performers or programs, etc...

Our website pricing does not guarantee actual availability of a ticket. Should your chosen ticket not be available, you will be contacted with alternate seating (if available). If your first seating choice ticket is not available and you provided alternate seating requests when you placed your order, seating within your alternate category will be provided without additional notice to you. No refunds are given for seating booked in alternate categories you provided when you placed your order. Seating in other than your first or alternative choices will not be confirmed without your approval.

In most cases, you will be required to pick up your tickets directly at the box office on the date of the event, by showing the voucher and your passport. Select Italy® will alert you if tickets can be delivered to your shipping address or Italian hotel prior to the event. In such cases an additional shipping charge may apply.

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

Confirmed tickets are totally non-refundable and non-transferable.

All venues reserve the right to make any revisions or cancellations of the program deemed necessary. Should a performance be canceled by the venue for any reason, a cash refund on the face value of the ticket only may be available directly from the box office on the date of the canceled performance. You may also be able to exchange your tickets for another date within the production run.

It is your responsibility to obtain refunds (if made available by the venue) directly from the box office on the date of the performance or within the box office's indicated period of time for refunds.

No refund will be offered for additional booking fees or processing fees added by Select Italy®.

3. TEATRO ALLA SCALA CONDITIONS

Select Italy® works with a licensed La Scala broker to provide tickets. Prices for La Scala productions include ticket price, brokerage fees as well as Select Italy's® service fee. Tickets will be delivered to your hotel on the date of the production.

In the event of strike or theater closure, no refund will be offered for additional booking fees or processing fees added by Select Italy®.

Guided Services
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for carefully selected service providers, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in service(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or service provider decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the service provider(s). By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified service(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage(s), refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the service provider(s).

2. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

A. All Guided Services with the exception of the Vasari Corridor Private Visit (see B below):

Changes to your confirmed service(s) (Private Walking Tour or Excursion) must be requested in writing. All requests received before the vouchers are sent are free of charge. All change requests received after the vouchers are sent incur a change fee of $50 for each change and may require additional fees for any required changes to museum entrance ticket(s).

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date based on Italian standard time.

Cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until (10) ten days prior to the date of service incur a $125 cancellation fee; services canceled less than (10) ten days prior to the date of service are non-refundable.

B. Vasari Corridor Private Visit:

Once confirmed, reservations for the Vasari Corridor Private Visit are completely nonrefundable and nontransferable and changes to a confirmed reservation cannot be made.

3. TRAVEL INSURANCE

We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance, available at extra cost, to protect the investment you have made in your travel plans and help ensure peace of mind before, during and after your trip.
Chauffeured Transfers
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for selected suppliers, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the companies with whom arrangements are made. By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified service, you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage after arrival shall be sought directly from the supplier. Select Italy® highly recommends that all clients bring a cell-phone that can be used in Italy along with them on their trip.

2. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

Changes to your confirmed service(s) must be requested in writing. All change requests received before vouchers are sent are free of charge. All change requests received after vouchers are sent incur a change fee of $30 for each change and may require additional fees. Changes to the service must be confirmed before the reservation time.

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on Italian standard time.

Cancellations:

- Received between the date of service confirmation and until seventy-two (72) hours prior to the date and time of service incur a $100 cancellation fee.

- Received less than seventy-two (72) hours prior to the date and time of service are non-refundable.

3. DELAYS AND NO-SHOWS

Upon confirmation of your service, you will receive a voucher specifying the pick-up location and pick-up time for your transfer, as well as contact information for the local Italian company providing the service and contact information for our Florence representative.

If you anticipate that you will be delayed for any reason and will not be able to honor your scheduled pick-up time, it is your responsibility to call the service supplier at the provided phone number or, if they are not available, Select Italy's® Florence representative, or Select Italy's® office in Chicago (Monday to Friday 8:30AM - 5:30PM Central US time) to alert the appropriate party to your delay. If it is possible, we will reschedule your pick-up time. Select Italy® makes no guarantee that a re-scheduled pickup time may be possible without additional cost.

In case of airline delay or delays related to luggage pickup at Italy's airports, our suppliers will wait up to 40 minutes past the reserved pick-up time. If you are awaiting luggage in an airport and anticipate that you may be delayed, please contact the supplier to alert them of the change in pickup time.

If a call is not made prior to reservation time, and/or you are not able to be present for your scheduled pickup, the service will be considered a no-show. No-show clients cannot re-schedule the service and must re-book the service at the full price.

Excursions
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for carefully selected service providers, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in service(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or service provider decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the service provider(s). By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified service(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage(s), refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the service provider(s).

2. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

Changes to your confirmed service(s) must be requested in writing. All change requests received before vouchers are sent are free of charge. All change requests received after vouchers are sent incur a change fee of $50 per adjustment and may require additional fees.

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on Italian standard time. Cancellations received between the date of service confirmation and until ten (10) days prior to the date of service incur a $200 cancellation fee; services canceled less than ten (10) days prior to the date of service are non-refundable.

Train Tickets

Food & Wine Services

By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified service(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage(s), refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the service provider(s).

2. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR SERVICES PERFORMED IN ITALY

Changes to your confirmed service(s) must be requested in writing. Changes made after the service has been confirmed or the supplier has been paid incur a change processing fee of $50.

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on Italian standard time.

Cancellations:

- Received between the date of service confirmation and until fourteen (14) days prior to the date of service, incur a $125 cancellation fee.

- Received between less than fourteen (14) days and seventy-two (72) hours prior to the date of service incur a 50% cancellation fee.

- Received less than seventy-two (72) hours from the date of service are non-refundable.

3. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES FOR SERVICES ORIGINATING IN THE UNITED STATES

Changes to your confirmed service(s) must be requested in writing. Changes made after the service has been confirmed or the supplier has been paid incur a change processing fee of $50.

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on US Central Time Zone.

Cancellations:

- Received between the date of service confirmation and until fourteen (14) days prior to the date of service incur a 30% cancellation fee (or a 15% fee if the service is rebooked or transferred).

- Received between less than fourteen (14) days and seventy-two (72) hours prior to the date of service incur a 50% cancellation fee (or a 30% fee if the service is rebooked or transferred).

- Received less than seventy-two (72) hours from the date of service are non-refundable (or a 50% fee if the service is rebooked or transferred).

4. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Hotels
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for carefully selected properties, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in accommodation(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or property decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the property(ies) whose name(s) appears on the invoice. By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified accommodation(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage, refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the property(ies).

2. CHANGE AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

Changes must be requested in writing.

Changes made to any booking after the property has been paid incur a change processing fee of $50 per property.

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on Italian standard time.

Cancellation before a property has been paid: full refund, less a non-refundable $125 cancellation fee per reserved property.

Cancellation after a property has been paid (done approximately thirty (30) days prior to arrival date), no refund.

Reservations made in conjunction with additional services as part of a custom travel itinerary are non-refundable and non-transferable.

3. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Villa & Apartment Rental
1. CONDITIONS

Select Italy® acts as an agent for carefully selected properties, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, change in accommodation(s) or rate(s) (due to exchange rate or property decision), or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the property(ies) whose name(s) appears on the invoice. By engaging Select Italy® and making full payment for the specified accommodation(s), you agree to hold Select Italy® harmless in making arrangements on your behalf and that any claim(s) of damage, refund(s) or credit(s) after arrival shall be sought directly from the property(ies).

2. BOOKING AND DEPOSIT

Once you have selected your property(ies), you must complete and sign the Booking Form and return it to us or give it to your travel agent. A 30% to 50% (depending on the property) deposit, by check or credit card, is due upon written confirmation of the booking. No contract will exist between us until we have received the required deposit. If you book through a travel agent, then a contract will exist between us once we have issued written confirmation to your agent.

3. PAYMENT OF THE BALANCE DUE

Select Italy® will issue a confirmation to you or your travel agent. The balance of charges is payable no later than ten (10) weeks before the departure date. Failure to meet payment dates will be treated as a cancellation and we will be entitled to apply the cancellation charges as set out in item 6 below.

4. LATE BOOKINGS

Late bookings are those made within twelve (12) weeks of departure. Once details have been confirmed to you either by phone or in writing, a contract shall be deemed to exist between you and Select Italy®, and all booking conditions, including cancellation charges shall apply. Full payment will be due immediately.

5. CHANGES BY THE CLIENT

Changes must be requested in writing.

If after booking your property(ies) you decide to alter any of the details of the confirmed booking, a change fee of $125 per change will apply.

6. CANCELLATION BY THE CLIENT

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on Italian standard time.

Based upon the date on which we receive written notification of a cancellation by you, or the booking being canceled by us due to non-payment, the following cancellation fees apply:

- Ten (10) weeks or more before the departure date, the required 30% deposit is non-refundable.

- Between nine (9) and six (6) weeks prior to the departure date, 50% of the total villa and/or apartment cost is non-refundable.

- Less than six (6) weeks prior to the departure date, 100% of the total villa and/or apartment cost is non-refundable.

7. CHANGE AND/OR CANCELLATION BY THE PROPERTY SUPPLIER

Although it is rare that our suppliers have to make any changes to confirmed arrangements, it does occasionally happen. In such a case, we will advise you at the earliest date possible. If for any reason beyond our control we are unable to provide you with the property(ies) you have booked, we reserve the right to transfer you to a similar property(ies). If the cost is less than your original booking then you will receive a refund for the difference. If, however, the cost is more then, upon your acceptance, you will pay the difference. However, if this is not possible or you do not wish to be transferred, we will cancel the booking and refund the full amount paid to us for the property, but we shall not be liable for any cancellation charges for any related travel arrangements, services, tours, etc.

8. BROCHURE INFORMATION

We take the utmost care to provide accurate details of services in the information provided to you. However, proprietors do sometimes make changes and all references to the condition of the property or services must not be taken as statements of fact, but as statements of opinion.

9. NOT SELECT ITALY'S PROPERTIES®

We take all due care and attention in making your property(ies) arrangements, but since we do not own the properties, we cannot accept responsibility for the breakdown of the water, gas and electricity supplies, mechanical systems, telephone service, quality of roads, scorched lawns due to excessive sun, or the failure of the swimming pool and any related filter systems. Although we will make every effort to rectify and solve any problems as soon as possible, we have no legal responsibility to compensate you for any personal injury, death, loss or damage of whatever nature suffered by you or by any member of your party.

10. TRAVEL INSURANCE

We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance, available at extra cost, to protect the investment you have made in your travel plans and help ensure peace of mind before, during and after your trip. Without the protection of travel insurance, you assume all costs involved in the cancellation, postponement, delay and/or your inability to use the villa/apartment. See item 6, above, for more details.

11. COMPLAINTS

All properties are described accurately and in good faith. However, we decline all responsibility for any modifications made by the owners without our knowledge. In any case, should you have any problems during your stay you should contact us immediately. Failure to do so may reduce your right to compensation.

Please note that if you leave or abandon the property before the confirmed departure date without written authorization from Select Italy®, all rights to compensation are lost. We can be contacted at either our U.S. office in Chicago, or our Italian representative in Florence. You will find the relevant information and phone numbers on your voucher(s).

12. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES

You must arrive and leave according to the instructions on the voucher provided by Select Italy®. Should you be unable to arrive between these times, you must let us know as soon as possible.

13. SECURITY DEPOSIT

On arrival at the property, in order to cover possible damage or loss, you will be required to pay a security deposit, details of which are normally given in the description. The deposit is payable to the owner or the key-holder, and must be in the form of a Eurocheque, traveler's check or cash (euros). The full sum is returnable upon departure, except as noted in items 14 and 15 below.

14. CARE OF PROPERTY

You are responsible for ensuring that, upon departure, the property is left in the same level of cleanliness and repair as it was upon arrival. Failure to comply will result in cleaning charges deducted from the security deposit (see 15 below). Any loss or damage caused by your failure to respect fixtures or fittings will be deducted by the owner from your security deposit, as well. Linen is normally changed once per week.

15. FINAL CLEANING

You will be informed of any final cleaning charges at the time of rental. The final cleaning fee does not include excessive cleaning, the cleaning of the kitchen/kitchenette and the removal of trash, which are your responsibilities. If this has not been done, the owner or his/her representative will charge an additional amount to cover these costs.

16. EXTRAS

There may be additional costs for heating, telephone, and all additional services not specified in the brochure. Note that the period in which heating is available is subject to Italian law.

17. POOLS

For properties with a swimming pool, the period during which the pool is open and available for use varies according to the property but is typically from June 1st to September 30th and is subject to weather conditions.

18. ANIMALS

The majority of properties do not accept animals. If you want to have a pet with you, please ask for information when booking. The presence of an unauthorized animal is grounds for immediate eviction without the right to any reimbursement or refund. If an animal is accepted, an additional security deposit will be required.

19. SIZE OF PARTY & BEHAVIOR

Property owners reserve the right to refuse admittance if the number of persons arriving exceeds the number on the Booking Form or the maximum number the property can sleep, as set out in the relevant brochure description. No camping is permitted on the property grounds unless authorized in writing. The person signing the contact is responsible for the lawful and appropriate behavior of his/her party. Should that person and his/her party behave in a manner that is not acceptable by civilized standards, the key-holder might ask all persons involved to vacate the property, in which case there will be no refund of any rental payment.

20. PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographs taken in these properties cannot be used or sold for profit without written authorization.

Changes to your confirmed service(s) must be requested in writing. Changes made after the service has been confirmed or the supplier has been paid incur a change processing fee of $50 for each change.

Cancellations must be requested in writing. We calculate the date the cancellation was received based on Italian standard time.

Cancellations:

- Received between the date of package confirmation and until thirty (30) days prior to the date of departure: the deposit is forfeited.

- Received between twenty-nine (29) and fifteen (15) days prior to the date of departure: 60% of the package cost is forfeited.

- Received between fourteen (14) and seven (7) days prior to the date of departure: 80% of the package cost is forfeited.

- Received six (6) or fewer days prior to the date of departure: 100% of the package cost is forfeited.

Weddings
CONDITIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES

1. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

It is the client’s responsibility to collect proper documentation required to fulfill a legal wedding ceremony in Italy.

2. CONDITIONS & PRICING OF WEDDING PACKAGES

Wedding packages include a variety of different services and may be priced differently for every client. As such, the wedding packages posted at SelectItaly.com may vary in price. The posted package prices should be viewed as a “starting rate.” Actual cost will be provided to the client after an initial consultation with a member of Select Italy's® Wedding & Honeymoon Services staff.

3. EVENT POSTPONEMENT

Modification of individual services within a confirmed wedding ceremony must be submitted in writing. Requested changes will be taken on a case by case basis and may be subject to fees. If, after booking a wedding ceremony and its corresponding activities and services, the client decides to fully postpone the event, Select Italy® will attempt to confirm the same arrangements for an alternate date, however substitutions may be necessary based on availability. A $600 fee will be charged by Select Italy® if a ceremony postponement is requested. The client will be responsible for any increase in price resulting from the change of service, date or necessary substitutions made in order to complete the ceremony on a new date. The client will also be responsible for fees charged by the individual service providers (including but not limited to the celebrant, operator of the ceremony location, florist, etc.) resulting from the modification or postponement of the event.

4. CANCELLATION POLICY

For cancellations received between the date of wedding package confirmation and until 60 days prior to the date of departure: deposit forfeited; between 59-45 days prior to the date of departure: Deposit + 60% of cost forfeited; between 44-36 days prior to the date of departure: Deposit + 80% of cost forfeited; 35 days or less prior to the date of departure: 100% of cost forfeited. Cancellations and postponements are only accepted in writing.

5. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Consultation Service
1. CONDITIONS

Except as noted below, Select Italy's® $299 consultation fee is completely nonrefundable and nontransferable. The consultation fee is not applicable to any services purchased through Select Italy®.

Select Italy® provides the most updated information available for all service providers recommended, all of which are independently owned and managed. Select Italy® shall not become liable for any travel plans not booked directly through Select Italy®, nor any personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, inconvenience, or any other irregularity due to wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omission on the part of the service provider(s).

2. CANCELLATION POLICY

Refunds (minus a $25 cancellation fee) will only be granted in the event that a cancellation request is made in writing (via email or fax) prior to the first consultation appointment.

If you choose to terminate or cancel the consultation at any time after the first appointment, payment is nonrefundable.
Restaurant Reservations
Reservations are completely non-refundable. Select Italy® is not responsible for the quality of restaurant service, presentation or food. Italian restaurants reserve the right to change their menu and pricing without notice and without advance notice to Select Italy®. Once reservations are confirmed, they are completely non-refundable and non-transferable.

The cost of the meal must be paid on site at the restaurant in accordance with the restaurant's current pricing. Credit cards may not be accepted depending on restaurant policy. Select Italy® charges $15 for the service of reserving the table.

If the preferred date(s)/time(s) are not available, we will book as close as possible to your preferred times unless instructed otherwise. Though Select Italy® will do its best to guarantee your requested time, we reserve the right to book 15 minutes before and 60 minutes after your requested time.

In the event of cancellation, you must contact Select Italy® no later than Noon (US Central Time Zone) on the day of your reservation. No reservation refund will be provided for cancellation. In the event that you do not use your reservation and do not cancel in accordance to the above stated cancellation policy, a fee of $60 will be charged to your credit card. This fee is non-refundable. If you are not on time for your reservation, your reservation may be voided and no refund will be granted.
Group Tours
1. DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS

In order for Select Italy® to begin work on planning a group tour, a $300 fee is required. The fee will be applied to the final balance unless the tour is canceled, in which case it becomes non-refundable. In addition, the following deposit schedule applies:

A. Initial deposit of 20% of trip cost due upon confirmation of arrangements.
B. Second deposit of 30% of trip cost due 90 days prior to departure.
C. Balance due 60 days prior to departure.

Additional services and costs incurred by the group during the course of the tour but after final payment has been made will be invoiced upon tour completion.

2. CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations of the entire tour must be in writing and sent by email, fax or letter. Penalties for trip cancellation are based on the number of days before the tour start date.

For cancellations, the following penalties apply:

A. Eight (8) weeks or more prior to departure: 20% per person.
B. Four (4) weeks or more prior to departure: 50% per person.
C. Less than four (4) weeks prior to departure: 100% of total trip cost.

3. CHANGES

Any changes to the scheduled itinerary must be requested in writing and may result in additional costs and/or change fees.
