Reservations are required to visit the Galleria Borghese, however it is not possible to prepay for your museum entrance ticket. Tickets are to be purchased on-site for approximately 13.50 Euro per ticket (from May 29 to October 4, 2009 including exhibition price). The Galleria Borghese allows reserved entrances every 2 hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The museum officially closes at 7:00 pm.
You are allowed to stay in the museum for only 2 hours.
The Borghese is closed every Monday as well as January 1, May 1, August 15 and December 25.
Reservation requests for this museum generally can be confirmed 30 days in advance. In some cases, the Borghese administration will delay the release of tickets, allowing reservations to be made only a few days in advance.
The Borghese is located in the Borghese Gardens and is a 20 minute walk from the Spanish Steps, a 30 minute walk from the Vatican City or a 15 minute taxi ride from the Colosseum.
Children under the age of 5 do not require a ticket.
The Galleria Borghese is not wheelchair accessible.

After several years of restoration, the Galleria is once again inviting visitors to view the collection of masterpieces assembled by the great collector and patron of the arts Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the 17th century. His passion and instinct for art led him to amass a unique collection that includes many masterpieces of the Baroque style. The Villa Borghese is itself noteworthy as a beautifully decorated and frescoed villa. Highlighted items in the collection are Gianlorenzo Bernini's sculptures of Pluto and Proserpina and Apollo and Daphne. The painting galleries contain Titian's Sacred and Profane Love and other great works by Caravaggio, Rubens, and Correggio.
