With over 15,000 square feet of royal apartments and art and almost 200 acres of gardens, the Venaria Reale is considered by many to be the Versailles of Italy. This Baroque royal palace and estate was home to the Savoys, who ruled most of Northern Italy for almost 1000 years often waging war against Europe's greatest monarchs, including Versaille's owner Louis XIV of France.
After 100 years of neglect and 10 years of massive restoration efforts, the palace and gardens are now open again to the public. The Reggia (or palace) has been carefully curated to display the best artwork from the Savoy collections and beautifully restored frescoes. Architects and landscapers have recreated the gardens surrounding the palace in consideration of the original plans but with a contemporary style. For those who seek a sense of the storybook kingdoms so well-known in Europe, the Venarie Reale offers a picturesque peek into the past. Getting to the palace is an easy journey of only 10 km from Torino. Read FAQs | Read Terms and Conditions
