Helpful Hints The Ca' D'Oro allows reserved entrances every 15 minutes from 8:15 am to 6:45 pm Tuesday through Sunday. The museum officially closes at 7:15 pm. On Mondays, the museum closes early with the last available entrance at 1:30 pm. You are allowed to stay in the museum as long as you would like after entrance. You should plan for approximately 60 minutes for your visit. Ca' D'Oro is closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25. Reservation requests for this museum generally can be confirmed in two business day. If you place your order on Friday, confirmation will not be available until Tuesday. The Ca' D'Oro is located on the Grand Canal, approximately 15 minutes away from the Rialto Bridge. Children under the age of 5 do not require a ticket. About This Service Named for its original gold-detailed facade, the Golden House, or Ca' D'Oro, is one of the gems of the Grand Canal of Venice. The building was designed for the Contarini family by Giovanni and Bartolemeo Bon, architects of the Doge Palace and the famed Venetian Gothic style. After the fall of the Republic, the Ca' D'Oro fell into disrepair, until it was purchased and renovated by Baron Giorgio Franchetti. Upon his death, Franchetti bequeathed the Ca' D'Oro and his personal art collection to the state. This collection, now known as the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti, includes works by Andrea Mantegna, Jacopo Tintoretto and other Italian artists.
