About This Service
Are you a foodie? Does the sight of rosy-pink prosciutto make your mouth water? Does Parmigiano Reggiano increase your heart beat? Does sweet, thick balsamic vinegar occupy a position of honor in your personal culinary Pantheon? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this is the tour for you!

Your day will begin early at a caseificio, where Parmigiano Reggiano, the "King of Cheeses", is produced. You'll watch as master artisans create what is truly one of the most delicious foods in the world. The next stop is for Prosciutto di Parma. Traditionally sliced thin to the point of near-transparency, this succulent delight melts in your mouth. Here, you will see how it's made and cured to perfection. After this, it's time for a light lunch (and who wouldn't be hungry at this point!) including aged prosciutto and a sampler platter that includes 30-month old Parmigiano Reggiano, traditional breads and local wine.

After lunch, you'll head to the last stop of the tour, an acetaia, where balsamic vinegar is produced. They will show you how they transform the humble grape into a powerful, flavorful and magnificent product. You'll taste three varieties of the balsamic vinegar they make, the Red Label (aged up to 12 years), Silver Label (aged up to 20 years) and the Gold Label (aged for 25 years or more). Afterward you will return to Parma where your tour ends.

Please note that this is a self-driven tour that includes a private English-speaking guide for the duration of the program. You must however, have a vehicle: it can be your own car rental or, if you prefer, we can provide for you a private car and driver. For the latter option, please follow the prompts in the booking process.
