New York, NY December 14, 2006 ­ Ennio Morricone, the Academy Award-winning composer of over 400 film scores, will make his public US debut on February 3, 2007 in an historic concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Ennio Morricone is one of the most famous film score composers of the 20th century. Certainly, he's one of the most prolific. His more than 300 soundtracks (including Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission, Cinema Paradiso and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly) pull from a diverse selection of musical styles - classical, jazz, pop, rock, electronic, avant-garde, and traditional Italian folksongs. A tireless artist, Morricone has appeared in venues around the world conducting his own classic compositions. The February concerts will be his first performances in the US.

On December 13, 2006, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that at the 79th annual Academy Awards, Morricone will receive the Academy's Honorary Oscar to celebrate his numerous contributions to the world of cinema.
