The elegant Hotel Accademia takes its name from the former Accademia dei Filotimi, founded on the site in 1565 for the education of young noblemen. In 1797 it became an inn with stables for horses, while in 1880 it turned into an elegant hotel facing onto Via Mazzini, today the most exclusive shopping street in the heart of Verona. It is located between the Arena, in Piazza Bra', and Piazza delle Erbe, a square with the famous house and balcony of Juliet and close to the city's museums and historic churches.
