giorgia meet the team select italy Meet Select Italy Team: Giorgia 1. Name and What do you do at Select Italy?

Ciao! My name is Giorgia and I am currently doing an internship in the Chicago office.

2. What’s your favorite Italian destination?

A part from Rome, the “caput mundi?” I love Umbria. It is a region in central Italy known as “regione verde” (green region) since it has so many parks and hills.

3. Whom would you go there with?

I would definitely go there with my friends and look for the great parties and festivals in Perugia!

4. Which 3 things should never be missing from one’s luggage when traveling to Italy?

If you are traveling to Italy, bring an empty luggage! You may want to buy clothes from the best Italian brands as well as souvenirs and maybe some delicious food!

Don’t forget a coffee cup! You will love Italian coffee and you will need your own coffee maker once you will be back. Coffee is an addiction over there!

And I would finally recommend bringing all your curiosity with you: there are amazing landscapes that are waiting to be discovered!

5. What Italian food are you addicted to?

I am addicted to pasta. It may sound a cliché but it is the truth! Pasta al pomodoro, pasta alla carbonara, pasta al pesto

Reveal to us a secret about Italy! Food, shop, unique view, restaurant, your favorite T4T…Whatever, we are really curious!

If you will have the chance to visit Marche, you can’t miss the Grotte di Frasassi. If you are hungry after the tour in the caves, a sandwich with the famous Soppressato di Genga will satisfy your appetite!

    HI Giorgia!

I’m visiting Rome for the first time in February 2013. I know it’s quite a bit away but I’m a little nervous about the trip because I’ve never been out of America. Do you have any tips for me to get by or things that I should know that are different than the US? I really want to blend in as much as possible and give respect to Italian culture.

    Thanks!

      Hello Callie,
First of all Rome is beautiful in every season, and the winter in italy is mild so you will be fine and you will be able to avoid the crowds, which is always a good thing, especially in the big cities. I would personally suggest to read our Italian language blog and also take a look at the other “meet the team” blog posts to have more insights about Italy and suggestions from our experts!
If you are looking for assistance regarding reservations or suggestions for your trip, please contact and our agent will be happy to work with you and share their expertise.
