Mark & Priscilla on Their Wedding Day
Mark Zuckerberg’s honeymoon in Rome was a modest and quaint affair with new wife Priscilla Chan. They dined for 30 euros in the Jewish ghetto, toured the main sites unaccompanied and enjoyed their classic Italian vacation like many tourists do. However, while the honeymoon might have been modest relative to Zuckerberg’s wealth, the wedding gift he is presumed to purchase for his new wife, is not.
While on his honeymoon, Mark Zuckerberg traveled north to the Asti region of Italy. A region of Italy renowned for wine making as much as truffle hunting. The are is home to some of the most spectacular vistas in all of Italy, and provides a unique seclusion from the more touristy areas such as Rome or Venice. For Priscilla Chan, Zuckerberg is said to have purchased the Lavezzole Castle, a monastery from the 1600s.
This exquisite property boasts a pool, tennis courts, a lake and even a private chapel. The property sits on the Alfieri hillside near Langhe, overlooking a swath of rolling hills and the medieval town, of San Damiano d’Asti. At 7 million, 500 thousand euros, the gift is sure to please.
I assume all his Facebook friends will “like” this?!
Very interesting. What’s the source on this? I haven’t been able to find anything more about it. I’m intrigued and love that part of Italy!
