Here we go again. Every end of the year there are few things you can count on: lively holiday lights in the streets, incredibly crowded shopping malls for last minutes gifts and…year-end lists on what we leave behind and surveys on what the new year will bring us. And the most intriguing answer for a travel professional every year is – What will be the best destination of 2013?

Well, it comes as no surprise that Il Bel Paese  is still on top of the preferences of many travelers worldwide. According to a survey ran by, a popular airfare search engine, U.S travelers have Italy at number 1 on their wish list this year (here is the original Press Release). The travelers were asked to name the most desirable country to visit in 2013 if money and time were not an issue and the majority of those surveyed replied that they would travel to Italy.
