About This Property
In the first half of the seventeenth century, the Acquavivas of Aragon, Lords of Conversano, owned Montalbano. At this time, the area was converted into a 22 hectare olive grove and important olive oil producer. Later, they rebuilt the on-site church of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary - the family crest can still be found on the altar today! Needless to say, this masseria is unique part of local history. Presently, the owners have lovingly restored the estates’ buildings, using traditional materials to retain as much of the local character as possible. By doing this, they have transformed the antiquated property into a stylish, modern hotel.

Rare Mediterranean pines, multi-colored bougainvillea, and shrubs overflow from old stone troughs and add beauty to the inner courtyards. The former living quarters of the farm workers have all been converted into luxurious bedrooms as well. Inside, the rooms are impressive and unfussy, accented with splashes of color.

Guests can find a bar and restaurant, with high vaulted ceilings, within the main house – along with the reception area and lounge. The lounge contains a television, and is furnished with sumptuous ivory sofas that invite weary travelers to sink into them. The masseria has an excellent reputation for its cuisine. The chefs use local ingredients, and the delicious food is beautifully presented. Inside the restaurant, diners can find beautiful chandeliers, and doors that open onto a garden terrace.

From the time that you pass the olive trees as you arrive at the Masseria Montalbano, you truly get a taste of what ancient Apulia is all about. Come discover this gorgeous part of Italy, which has yet to be explored by many travelers.

Our Full-Service Portfolio requires 3 business days in order to confirm availability and finalize a reservation. For RUSH requests (4-7 days before reservation date) there will be an additional fee of $20. Also, please note, in all cases we require a minimum of 1 business day to check availability and generate quotes.

For RUSH requests (within 7 days of reservation date) there will be an additional fee of $10. If your reservation is for a date in the next 72 hours (3 days) we will require a credit card to generate your quote.
